Terms & Services
Privacy
Mutter is a voice journal that runs entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings, transcripts, and reflections are processed and stored on the device. Nothing you say is sent anywhere. The app has no server, no account, no analytics, and no network code.
This website collects nothing either: no cookies, no analytics, no trackers.
Your data
Everything Mutter stores lives on your phone and belongs to you. Deleting an entry deletes its recording and transcript. Journal data is excluded from device backups - if the phone is lost, the journal is lost with it. That is a deliberate trade-off, not an accident.
Terms of use
By using Mutter you agree to what follows. If you do not, please delete the app.
The licence
Buying Mutter gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control, under the terms of Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement. You may not resell it, rent it, or redistribute it. The app's code, name, and artwork remain ours.
Purchase and refunds
Mutter is sold once, for a single price, with no subscription and no purchases inside the app. Apple handles the transaction, the receipt, and any refund โ we never see your payment details and cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests go to Apple.
What you record is yours
We claim no ownership of anything you say, write, or store in Mutter, and we never receive it. Because the app has no server, we cannot recover your journal if you lose it, and we cannot access it on request โ including our own.
Requirements
Mutter needs a recent iPhone with Apple Intelligence and a current version of iOS, and it works in English. The App Store listing states the exact requirements. Transcription and reflection depend on system features supplied by Apple; if Apple changes or withdraws them, parts of the app may change or stop working.
No warranty
Mutter is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that its transcription and observations will be accurate. It is a journal, not a medical, legal, financial, or professional service, and nothing it produces is advice.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the app. We are not liable for lost recordings, lost transcripts, or any indirect or consequential loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as permitted.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date below. Continuing to use Mutter after a change means you accept it.
